Nacho Barbero, the biggest champion in LAPT history, has left the South American circuit for the enormous stakes of the Triton Poker Series. The Argentinian is on the cusp of earning his first ITM at the Vietnam tournament.
Day 1 concludes at $15,000 NL Event 2 Professional Hold’em player who has 75 bbs and is in second position, behind CL Aleksejs Ponakovs (80 bbs). As it stands, 37 players are still in contention for the championship, and only 23 will be awarded a share of the $2,580,000 in prize money.
In addition to Linus Loeliger (71 bbs), Michael Watson (52 bbs), Artur Martirosian (47 bbs), and Thomas Muehloecker (35 bbs), Nacho will have plenty of company when he returns to the felts at the Hoiana Hotel in Hoi Ann.
A pair of Brazilians, Pedro Garagnani and Pablo Brito, were eliminated on Day 1.
